It’s Not Just Me

It’s Not Just Me.

My friends at The New York Times seem to be as interested in the Texas Congressional situation as I am. Just want to alert all of you to today’s front page story “Battle for Control of Congress Plays Out in a Redrawn Texas.”

It profiles the change in the West Texas districts and Representative Charles Stenholm. It focuses on “the Texas five”—“five Texas Democrats split from their constituents by redistricting.” The other five are Chet Edwards, Max Sandlin, Nick Lampson, and Martin Frost.

WHERE IS LLOYD DOGGETT?

Does having a tiny part of the old district in your new district mean you’re not not in the deepest Texas Democrat shit of the year? Are these guys more fucked over than Lloyd? I’m not sure if the districts are as screwed up as Austin having no representative (the Republicans like to say that instead of one, now we’ll have four), but MAYBE THINGS ARE WORSE THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED.

Here’s the link:

Strangely enough, even though the story is on today’s front page, you have to really look for it online. It doesn’t show up in National, Washington, anything in the lower menus on the site.

I’ll try to find out about the Doggett situation.

Positive link action later.
